Custom fields let you pass partner-submitted data directly into your HubSpot deal. This guide walks you through mapping both single-line text fields and picklist (drop-down) fields.
Who can do this: Admins only
The custom field must already exist in HubSpot as a deal property before it will appear in the portal's mapping interface. If you haven't created it yet, follow HubSpot's guide to creating and editing properties first.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following in place before beginning:
Admin access to PartnerPortal.io
The custom field already created as a HubSpot deal property
The custom field added to your Lead Registration Form (see Step 1 below)
Step 1: Add the Custom Field to Your Lead Form
Before you can map a field to HubSpot, it needs to be active on your Lead Registration Form.
Go to the Leads tab under Accounts & Settings.
Open the Lead Registration Form and click the pencil icon to edit it.
Add your custom field.
Check the Active box so the field appears on the form.
Check Required if you want partners to fill it in before submitting.
Step 2: Open the HubSpot Integration Settings
Go to the Integrations tab.
Select Settings under HubSpot.
Click Configure.
Scroll to the Deal object and find the custom field section at the bottom.
Step 3: Map the Field
The mapping steps vary slightly depending on the field type. Follow the section that matches your field.
Single-Line Text Fields
In the Deal object, select your custom field from the dropdown.
Click Add.
Click the newly added field and configure the mapping:
Setting | Value |
Type | Portal object |
Object | Lead |
Field | The custom portal field you want to map |
Picklist (Drop-Down) Fields
Make sure the picklist field exists in both your HubSpot deal properties and your Lead Registration Form before starting.
Select the custom picklist field from the dropdown in the Deal object.
Click Add.
Click the newly added field and configure the mapping:
Setting | Value |
Type | Portal object |
Object | Lead |
Field | The custom portal field you want to map |
4. Click Map Values to match each PartnerPortal.io lead field option to the corresponding HubSpot drop-down value.
Step 4: Save Your Settings
Click Save when you have finished mapping all fields.
Troubleshooting
My custom field doesn't appear in the mapping dropdown.
The field must exist as a HubSpot deal property before it shows up in the portal. Go to HubSpot and create the property first, then return to the mapping screen.
The field is in HubSpot but still not appearing.
Make sure the field is also added to your Lead Registration Form in PartnerPortal.io and that the Active box is checked (Step 1).
