Understanding Revenue and Commission

In this article, we’ll be reviewing the Lead, Payment, and Partner fields and how they are related.

Updated this week

Lead

Leads contain important revenue and commission data. Some values sync from your CRM (if connected), while others are automatically calculated within the platform.

Close Value

  • Editable until the Lead is connected to a CRM.

    • Once connected, this value syncs from the CRM and becomes read-only in the portal.

  • If not connecting to a CRM, this is can be edited manually in the portal once the lead has been approved.

NOTE: Close Value is for reference only. It is not used to calculate commissions.

Total Revenue (Lead Level)

  • The sum of all Revenue entries in the Lead’s Revenue History.

  • Revenue can be:

    • Manually entered, or

    • Generated using the Payment Scheduler with your Accounting integration.

Total Commission (Lead Level)

  • The sum of all Commission Amounts in the Lead’s Revenue History.

  • Represents the total commission paid to the Partner for that specific Lead.

Commissions

As Leads generate revenue, Partners earn commissions. Each commission payout is recorded as a Payment in the Lead’s Transaction Log.

Revenue (Payment Level)

  • The revenue amount used to calculate that specific Payment.

  • Can be:

    • Manually entered, or

    • Automatically calculated via Accounting integration based on the Payment’s Start and End dates.

Commission Types

Payments can be structured in several ways:

  • Fixed Amount – A flat dollar amount (e.g., $50, $100).

  • Recurring Percentage – A percentage paid on a recurring schedule (monthly, quarterly, annually).

  • One-Time Percentage – A percentage paid once.

Payment

  • The actual commission paid to the Partner.

  • Automatically calculated based on the Total Revenue and the commission structure.

Partner

Total Revenue
